The alien is accidentally awoken by the soldiers, and introduces herself as Mumara. She instantly sets about to place everyone in the world into a deep sleep so that she can be sustained by their dreams. Luckily for Jessica, her spider-powers make her immune to Mumara sleep-inducing rays. However, in order to save everyone, Jessica becomes Spider-Woman and is left to enter the dream world to stop Mumara once and for all.
